Romeo Conte
Artistic Director of the Festival Salento Finibus Terrae-San Vito dei Normanni Romeo Conte born in San Vito dei Normanni, director of film, great events and fashion shows for Italian and international designers.
He lives in Prato, Tuscany, but he works in Milan for the production company Day by Day.
Keen on cinema, in 1997 he begins with direction and script, and carries out his first short titled "La crepa". With this work he participates out of competition to the 54° Mostra Internazionale del Cinema in Venice in the section "Italian shorts".
In the year 2000 he realize his second work named "Via col Vento" which gains the production-quality prize received from the Ministry of Culture and Arts - Movie Department.
In 2001 he makes his third short called "Il Calabrone" experimenting with the digital system; in the same year he writes the subject and the script of the full-length "Guarda che luna" in collaboration with the script-writer Domenico Malan.
Between 2001 and 2002 he realizes some documentary films over the Salento region "Note di un viandante del sud", "Latiano terra di pietra", "Salve, lu rusciu de lu mare, lu profumu de la terra".
In 2003 he produces the musical video TaranTrance for Antonio Infantino that has been presented on the 19th of July 2003 at the "Biennale of Venice".
The love for his Apulia land is huge and endless, therefore he decides to collaborate with the Municipality of San Vito dei Normanni, to create the Festival called Salento Finibus Terrae. |
