With the armistice of 1943 the return to to home of a young Italian soldier starts. Within a changing and surreal landscape  the "deserter" traces the arc of human life through the encounter with the places of the soul and with emblematic and mysterious characters. The journey of a modern Ulysses toward the conquest of his own rebirth as a human being, a person and a part of a community disrupted by war.
